The Hawaii Department of Health has appointed Pono Life Sciences Maui, LLC and its individual licensee Dr. William Mitchell, Jr.

The order revokes the license of the Company and Person’s medical cannabis dispensary, requiring the immediate closure of Pono Life Sciences medical cannabis manufacturing and retailing.

The order was issued due to Licensee’s continued failure to provide annual independent financial audits in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 329D, Revised Bylaws of Hawaii, and Chapters 11-850, Hawaii Bylaws (HAR). The licensee has 20 days after receiving the NOVO to request a hearing to contest the notification.

Section 11-850-102 (b), HAR, provides that if a licensee revokes a pharmacy license, the dispensing of cannabis and manufactured cannabis products as well as all operations in pharmacy facilities will immediately cease. The Pono Life Sciences retail location at 415 Dairy Road in Kahului is closed and will remain closed until further notice.
