Flags in honor of US troopers who had been killed in an assault in Kabul

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Governor David Ige has ordered that the flags of the US and Hawaiian states be hoisted half-staff to honor the soldiers killed in the attack in Kabul on Thursday.

Flags will be hoisted with a half-staff until Monday.

Thirteen US soldiers and at least 60 Afghans were killed in a terrorist attack near Kabul airport, where Americans and Afghan allies continue to be evacuated.

In an emotional speech from the White House, US President Joe Biden said the recent bloodshed would not drive the US out of Afghanistan any earlier than planned.

He also said he had directed the US military to develop plans to attack ISIS, which claimed to be involved in the attack.

“We are not forgiven. We will not be forgotten. We’ll hunt you down and make you pay, ”said Biden.
