H1 West certain zip lane broken in Hawaii

HONOLULU (KHON2) – The zipper lane heading west was damaged on Saturday May 8th.

It happened just after 8:30 a.m.

The Hawaiian Department of Transportation crews cleared the debris in the first half of the year to the west about 300 meters from the Manager’s Drive flyover in the Waipio, Waikele area.

According to the police, the incident was classified as a “minor accident” and was caused by a single vehicle hitting the zipper lane

Witnesses say the debris field was about 150 meters.

HDOT officials say they don’t expect the Saturday incident to affect weekday traffic.
