The rough, slightly elevated surf along the east-facing coasts will gradually decrease to about the summer average as we head into the weekend. Expect a further decline in surf heights along the east-facing coastlines early next week due to the additional weakening of trades. A small south-west swell is expected to spread across the area from late Friday through this weekend, followed by the possibility of a slightly larger, long-lasting south swell early next week. This new south swell can cause surf heights to reach or possibly exceed the summer average on the south-facing shores from next Monday evening or Tuesday. Expect near-flat conditions on most of the north-facing coastlines by early next week.
