A high surf advisory for south facing coasts will continue until this afternoon. However, the surf on the south coast has subsided and will continue to decline through Friday and sink to background levels over the weekend. The surf on the east coast will subside over the next few days as the trade winds weaken across the region. The short-term energy will steadily decrease today and Thursday and then build up again to an almost average value on late Saturday and Sunday with increasing trade winds. A tiny swell in the northwest will decrease, resulting in a return to near-flat conditions on the north coast later today.
