Hawaii returned over 100 COVID circumstances on Friday

The Hawaii Department of Health reported 118 new coronavirus cases on Friday. The nationwide total is now 32,349. No new deaths related to COVID have been reported.

According to DOH statistics, five new cases of the virus were identified on the Big Island on Friday. The state’s two-week average is 83 new cases daily with a test positive rate of 1.5%.

Most of the 49 active cases on the Big Island are in the Kailua-Kona and Hilo areas. A DOH map tracking cases by district across all islands can be found on the department’s website.

The number of cases from island to island is as follows:

O’ahu: 24,832
Maui: 3,385
Hawaii: 2,692
Kauai: 243
Lana’i: 111
Moloka’i: 37
Outstanding: 0
Outside the state: 1,049

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 2,133 people have been hospitalized for a COVID-19 infection and at least 483 have died.
