Hawaii stories 83 new instances of COVID on Monday

The Hawaii Department of Health reported 83 new cases of coronavirus on Monday. The nationwide total is now 33,834. No new COVID-related deaths have been reported.

According to DOH statistics, seven new cases of the virus were identified on the Big Island on Monday. The state’s two-week average is 78 new cases daily with a test positive rate of 1.6%.

The number of cases from island to island is as follows:

O’ahu: 25,890
Maui: 3,575
Hawaii: 2,764
Kauai: 307
Lanai: 112
Moloka’i: 46
Outstanding: 0
Outside the state: 1,140

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 2,231 people have been hospitalized for a COVID-19 infection and at least 492 have died.
