Investigations are ongoing after a hearth destroyed a house on the island of Hawaii

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Hawaii County officials are investigating a fire that destroyed a home in Keaau early Thursday.

Firefighters responded to a one-story house on 6th Avenue in Paradise Park at around 2:20 a.m.

Upon arrival, the house was completely engulfed, officials said.

Because of broken power lines, the police had to close a nearby street.

The fire was under control at 3:35 a.m. and completely extinguished at 7:05 a.m.

According to the fire department, the house was empty.

No injuries were reported.

The fire caused an estimated $ 149,500 damage.
