Island of Hawaii man charged with a number of sexual assault

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – A Hilo man was charged with multiple sexual assault-related offenses that occurred between May and August this year.

Officials said Temaurai Border, 23, has been charged on four counts of first-degree sexual assault, one of attempted first-degree sexual assault, and third-degree sexual assault.

According to court records, the victim was a teenager.

Sexual assault and attempted sexual assault of the first degree are class A offenses with a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison.

Prosecutors said Border was denied the supervised release and bail is set at $ 160,000.

He is expected to appear in court on Wednesday for a preliminary hearing.
