Jill Biden wears a medical boot after a foot damage in Hawaii

WASHINGTON (AP) – Jill Biden wears a medical boot after a recent foot injury on a Hawaii beach.

The boot was on the first lady’s left foot as she and President Joe Biden boarded a Delaware helicopter to fly to the Presidential Retreat at Camp David, Maryland, Friday. She also held onto crutches.

President Biden helped her climb a short flight of stairs to the helicopter.

The first lady pierced her foot in late July while walking on the beach in Hawaii, where she flew to official events after attending the opening of the Tokyo Olympics, the White House said.

She returned to Washington on July 26 and received outpatient treatment on July 29 at Walter Reed Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. President Biden came to the hospital with his wife.

Her spokesman Michael LaRosa said it was not known what caused the puncture, but the wound was cleaned, was not infected and should “heal well”.

The first lady had not been seen in public since returning from Hawaii.
