Oahu, Maui continues to steer Hawaii in new COVID circumstances

The Hawaiian Department of Health reported 64 new cases of coronavirus on Tuesday, bringing the nationwide total to 30,909. No new COVID-related deaths have been reported.

According to DOH statistics, five new cases of the virus were identified on the Big Island on Tuesday. A DOH map is available on the state website that records cases by district across all islands.

The state’s two-week average is 87 new cases per day with a test positivity rate of 1.6%.

The number of cases from island to island is as follows:

O’ahu: 23,836
Maui: 3,148
Hawaii: 2,589
Kaua’i: 199
Lana’i: 111
Moloka’i: 34
Outstanding: 0
Outside the state: 992

Since the pandemic began, a total of 2,059 people have been hospitalized as a result of COVID-19 infection, while at least 471 people have died.
