The College of Hawaii eminent Cortez Davis was chosen for the Jim Thorpe Award watchlist

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Cortez Davis, a University of Hawaii cornerback, has secured a spot on the watchlist for the Paycom Jim Thorpe Award pre-season alongside 40 other college football athletes.

The Paycom Jim Thorpe Award is presented by the Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame and the Jim Thorpe Association and is presented to the defensive back of college football.

Davis joins Darius Muausau and Calvin Turner Jr. as the third Rainbow Warrior to be on a national price watchlist.

During his three years at UH, Davis played in all but two games.

Davis has recorded 15 pass breakups and one interception that resulted in a touchdown.

Earlier this month, Davis was named to the preseason all-mountain west first team.

The Rainbow Warriors will debut against UCLA on August 28th in Pasadena, CA.
