HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – The breezy trade winds will continue to this day, but trades will ease slightly this weekend. Low clouds and brief trade showers will continue along the windward sections, especially at night and in the morning. The sheltered areas of the smaller islands will be mostly dry, but the Kona slopes of the Big Island will continue to have some afternoon and evening showers. Local breezy trade winds are expected to return to the state early next week.
Surfing along the east facing coastlines will remain rough today due to the strong trades. Surfing along the north-facing coastlines remains near flat levels during the weekend, with the exception of the typical areas exposed to the trade wind energy through. The next significant swell for the south coast is expected next week Wednesday through next weekend.
